| New cd Bye-Ya! to be released later this
year |
Latin-jazz quintet Bye-Ya! is back. Bye-Ya! was founded in 1999 by percussionist Jens Kerkhoff and bassist Mick Paauwe, featuring Randal Corsen on piano. The group previously released two critically acclaimed cd’s: the self-titled album in 2001, and ‘Dos’ in 2003 (both on A-records). After the leaving of stellar trumpeter Jarmo Hoogendijk and drummer Liber Torriente, the group took a break of a couple years. Jens, Mick and Randal recently reunited, joined by drummer Enrique Firpi and Grammy award winning trumpet player Brian Lynch, to record a new CD. This CD will feature two compositions by Randal, as well as some compositions by Brian Lynch. The release is set for October 2009. Stay tuned for more info about release of this cd. |
