| Randal Corsen quartet meets Marlon Titre "Tribute to Julian Coco" |
The Randal Corsen quartet will meet classical guitarist and composer Marlon Titre, in a special program dedicated to guitarist and bassplayer Julian Coco. Onstage they will be joined by the New European Ensemble, a chamber music orchestra consisting of Top young musicians from throughout Europe. Julian Coco Born in January 1924 in Curaçao, Julian Coco was already a popular guitarist/bass player on his native island, playing with and composing/arranging for several folklore and popular music ensembles, before moving to the Netherlands in the 50s where he completed his studies classical guitar and double bass at the Amsterdam Conservatory. He was the first classical guitarist ever to graduate in the Netherlands, after the study was introduced. Besides being an outstanding classical musician who worked with the Utrecht Symphony orchestra for years, playing Concierto de Aranjuez as a soloist, Julian Coco kept playing, composing and arranging popular and folklore music from his native island and the Caribbean. He performed with several famous musicians such as violist Jehudi Menuhin, guitarist Andrés Segovia and famous jazz musicians like Stan Kenton and Dizzy Gillcspie. Marlon Titre At 18, Marlon became Junior Composer in Residence for the Residence Orchestra. A few years later he won the first prize in the prestiguous Michele Pittaluga guitar competition. At the occassion of her 25-year reign, he played live on television for HM Queen Beatrix. He graduated suma cum laude at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. The "Tribute to Julian Coco" project is part of Dutch Latin Collective, an initiative to support World Music projects in the Netherlands. | Randal Corsen group with stellar line-up to appear at Curacao North Sea Jazz. |
Last September it was made public that the North Sea Jazz Festival will settle in Curacao in 2010. The first edition of the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival will take place on Friday September 3rd and Saturday September 4th at the World Trade Center (WTC), Piscadera Bay, Curacao.

| Randal Corsen Quartet in Italy |
On February 15th the Randal Corsen quartet will perform in Treviso, Italy. The quartet will consist of Reno Steba on bass, Pernell Saturnino on percussion and Enrique Firpi on drums. The concert will take place at Teatro Eden, and will start at 20:45. |

| CD Recording with Marzio Scholten |
| In January Randal was in the studio with guitarist Marzio Scholten, to record Marzio’s new album. The album is going to be released on O.A.P. Records this coming fall. The line-up on this recording is Yaniv Nachum on tenor saxophone, Randal Corsen on piano, Stefan Lievestro on double bass, Bob Roos on drums, and - all the way from New York - Ambrose Akinmusire on trumpet. Randal also featured on Marzio’s acclaimed debut cd Motherland. More info.
